Monet

I know not much of art.
Nor of beginning,
nor person whose energy burst forth
so silently upon the canvas.
 
I wonder now
as I canoe beyond the bend
of this small isle in a Great Pond
why I see Monet in the trees and shoreline,
etched from nature’s palette upon the lake top.
 
Did he sit one day
and feel the vibrant sun,
the colors [...]
